Years

With over a decade of experience, Aspire provides training solutions with a proven track record of success. As pioneers in our line of work, our distinct methodology relies heavily on the simulation of real-life settings and the application of practical knowledge so that concepts learned are easily and firmly grasped over a short time. Thanks to our use of ‘experiential’ methods, we can make tangible leaps in performance that would normally be hard to achieve by using only conventional techniques that just provide theoretical teaching. Armed with creativity and a bold approach, we tailor programs that help transform corporates, youths and the communities we live in for the better

How Aspire Works Through Training

Aspire provides no off-the-shelf or haphazard training. We follow a meticulous process characterized by five main stages. We always start with the Training Needs Assessment (TNA) which allows us to better understand our trainees in order to design our solution to best match their strongest or most urgent needs. After the TNA, and with the design of a tailored solution that encompasses all the needs required, the training begins. The stage of learning for both knowledge, and more notably behaviors. We follow up on the results reached in order to maximize and sustain them in the long term

Training Methodology

People are inherently different in the way they understand and use information. Therefore, it is only natural to assume that different learning styles are needed. This is scientifically corroborated according to Kolb‘s model. People are one or more of the following learning styles:
• Activists
• Reflectors
• Theorists
• Pragmatists
That is why one of the main pillars of the methodology that we use in our training programs is “Experiential Learning”. It has proved time and time again that it is one of the most effective tools to cover this diversity of learning styles

What is Experiential Learning?

“Experiential learning” allows the trainee to face a challenging and hard-hitting experience. It triggers their minds and enables them to grasp the concept of the training on their own, in which each learner comes to have his / her own approach to the topic of the training. This lies at the core of what Aspire believes in. Rather than indoctrinating them, trainees are encouraged to improve themselves when given the freedom, tools and skillset to do so. It is for this reason that we passionately believe in this method because it induces tangible transformation as it focuses on instigating change in one’s behaviors and attitudes.

1

Trainees begin with an activity (experience) where they are placed in challenging situations pertaining to the training topic. This triggers the first learning style: Activists.

2

After the activity, trainees reflect on what happened and link it to their own real-life memories or relevant experiences. Everyone shares feelings and reactions, and they start learning by analyzing their thoughts and the thoughts of others. This triggers the second learning style: Reflectors8

3

At the end of the reflection, the group led by the trainer starts to develop a theory for the topic. Theories are usually based on different credible references that clarify the ideas discussed recently after being challenged and updated over the years. This triggers the third learning style: Theorists.

4

By the end of the theoretical phase, the group starts to think of a real-life application for the experience they had. In other words, they start to think about how to apply what they have learned when they get back to their offices and different aspects of their lives, turning concepts into practical behaviors or actions. This triggers the fourth learning style: Pragmatists.

It is important to note that learners do not have to strictly adhere to one style of learning. The learner can find multiple styles applying to him/her.

How It All Started

Heading title

In the mid-90s four friends, each on a completely different career path was tied to two things; their passion for creating positive change in people’s lives, and their love of sport. Having traveled around the world attending leadership schools and sports camps, it quickly became evident that the best way to reach minds and impact people was simply not by conventional means. It was to their surprise and delight; fun, discovery and challenge, all the components of competitive games.

They first discovered that when people are fully engaged in a game or sport for even an hour, their true personalities will involuntarily emerge. Stripped from their personas of everyday life, it becomes easy to get to grips with real hidden issues and initiate major change. Individuals experience the lessons instead of just hearing about them, and these levels are inevitably engraved on a deeper level in their minds.

With this new knowledge in mind, they started creating camps for underprivileged children in Egypt. The results were outstanding. While it all seemed like fun and games on the surface, these children developed new values and, more importantly, favorable behaviors that altered their daily lives. Naturally, their parents immediately began to notice the difference. Their children were learning to become independent, cooperative, and emotionally strong and they showed it. Astounded with the results, they too wanted to be part of this phenomenal program.
